    Symbolic Map

Picture
This project seeks to create a map of an island invented to represent who you are, where we had to put ten important things in life and to represent  them with symbols. For this project I first made a list of different things about my life and then chose the top ten. Then I did a draft of the island with events picked in the sketchbook. When I finished the draft and I liked how it was, I drew it again in  a A3 cardboard. Then I painted with watercolors all over the map using different techniques and colors. Once ready, then I put all the details and paste it into a larger cardboard of a bright color to highlight all the things that were in the map.

This project was very interesting and fun because we learned how to use watercolors and helped us know the most important events in our lives. In this project I had some difficulties when I was doing it. One was when I had to draw again the map in the A3 cardboard, because I had to do it exactly as it was in the draft and could not change anything. I also had problems when I had to paint the smallest details, because I was afraid that I paint wrong or they cannot be painted with the form they had. In this project some things seemed easy as designing the island and choose the most important events of my life. I also learned to use symbols to represent things and combine colors to give different  tone to all the things that were on my map.

     Half-Portrait

Picture
This project aimed to draw half of my face using a photo as a model. I first took a picture of my face behind a brick wall. After printing the photo, cut in half to have my face in two parts. Then I chose a half and glue on cardboard and the other store because it would use as a model to draw the other half of my face. Then try to copy as it was exactly the model and gave shadows. The revised several times to see what was missing and every time I fix something to make it perfect.

In this project I learned to draw a human face and placed in the right place each of the parts of the face. For example I learned that the eyes are in the middle of the face and ears in vain to the same eye level. In this project I had some difficulties when I was making it but could solve. One of the hardest things was to draw my eyes and nose because they had to be exactly to the other half of the photo. I also found it hard to put the shadows and lights where they were, because they had to be in the right place so that the picture looks good. It was hard to draw my hair because it was difficult to draw wide, and they have the same shape as the model pictured.

      Collage About Me

Picture
This project was about making a collage about me, the things that I like and with whom I identified as a person. First I find all the things that represented me in magazines and newspapers. Then I cut my favorite colors, what I like to eat, my favorite book, the animal that I like and much more. Then I look at pictures of me on the albums I had in my house and found one that shows who I am. I took all the imagines that I cut and glue them on a page of my art notebook to make the collage. After I finished I really liked and I realized that represented me as I was.

This project was very fun to do because I could teach the rest of people like I am outside and inside. In this collage I learned to have patience to find all the pictures I needed and learned to combine the different pictures to make sense in the collage. One of the things that I found difficult in this project was to find all the pictures I needed and I had to look them in many different magazine because I want the perfect imagines for my collage. This project was very interesting because I represent who I am only using pictures and symbols. Another thing I liked was that I did not use any words to explain something or put something that I liked
